Here follows a recap of current notifications.

1. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Deadline
At this stage the cut-off date has been amended. As per attached practice note.
https://theppra.org.za/article/extension_of_the_education_requirements_compliance_deadline_

In summary:
✓ Everyone with a 1st FFC issued prior to June 2020 must meet the deadline of 30 June 2023;
✓ Qualification and PDE must be done by 30 June 2023

CONSEQUENCES:

1) Practitioner could be deregistered after 1 July 2023
2) Administrative penalty of R1000
3) No further FFC’s will be issued unless the fine has been paid
4) If deregistered, you may re-register as a candidate property practitioner!

If you have still not started with the NQF qualification, you need to enrol with an accredited training provider as soon as possible. You will have to follow the RPL methodology. This means recognition of prior learning- there is no training involved and you need to research whatever you don’t know when you are completing your assignments.
You will not be able to write the relative PDE without your qualification or if you have been exempted from the qualification by the PPRA in terms of their exemption matrix.

Current qualifications

The current qualification requirement remains in force:
• Interns: NQF4, Logbook and PDE4
• Full status agents: NQF4 and PDE4
• Principals: NQF5 and PDE5

Methodology:

✓  More than 2 FFC’s issued- full programme or RPL method [subject to screening by training provider] ✓  Less than 2 FFC’s issued- only full programme Not eligible for RPL

2. PDE EXAMS

The dates for 2023 have been published on The PPRA website
https://theppra.org.za/article/planned_professional_designation_examinations_for_2023
Kindly note it will be a venue-based exam and not online! The venues have now been disclosed. As you enrol on MYPPRA the choice of venue will from part of the option you must select.

3. CPD

The PPRA has sent an advice on catch up for the 2022 CPD. It’s quite confusing as the only venues are Klerksdorp, Mpumalanga, Polokwane, Bloemfontein and Kimberley, at this stage. They do not appear to offer online CPD any longer. You can register your new 2023 plan- but my advice would be that all incumbents should wait a little longer until more clarity is provided by the PPRA.

4. EXEMPTION FROM QUALIFICATIONS

60+ EXEMPTION has fallen away

https://theppra.org.za/article/an_important_announcement_regarding_the_exemption_for_ property_practitioners_estate_agents_aged_60_years_and_above

Exemption of qualification based on prior degree or diploma
This can only be granted by the PPRA. No training provider may grant exemption from the qualifications. There is a process to follow.

You can contact Nantes on 082 533 1707/0219768848 or email info@isikolo.net or salma@isikolo.net for more information.

No intern will receive exemption from the logbook nor the PDE4 , even if they have received exemption from the qualification
